Rep. Jim Walsh seeks elimination of vehicle-miles-traveled program

Rep. Jim Walsh, R-Aberdeen, speaks in favor of passage of Amendment 518 to the transportation budget (Senate Bill 5096), which would have eliminated the Road Usage Charge pilot program (also known as “vehicle miles traveled”). The program is a fuel tax replacement that would require Washington drivers to pay a tax on every mile they drive. Walsh wants the program eliminated.
