Rep. Jim Walsh calls on legislators to save rural health care in Washington


During late-night House floor debate, Rep. Jim Walsh, R-Aberdeen, proposed an amendment to exempt rural health care providers from the business and occupation (B&O) tax rate increases outlined in House Bill 2158. Walsh discusses how rural Washington has been losing health care providers. The 19th District lawmaker says increasing their B&O taxes is a “bad idea.” He calls on legislators to save rural health care in Washington. Amendment 845 was defeated on a party-line vote of 41-56.
