Rep. Jim Walsh discusses education funding and ‘hold harmless’ legislation at Cosmopolis Elementary School

Rep. Jim Walsh, R-Aberdeen, talks about capital budget funding for school construction and remodeling at Cosmopolis Elementary School. The 19th District lawmaker also discusses the hold-harmless education funding bill, approved during the 2019 session, that changed the state's prototypical school funding formula to compensate for inequities affecting many rural school districts.

Walsh says the only shortcoming of the legislation is that it was only funded for one year and “the state must find the resources” in the coming session to keep the hold harmless system in place.
