Rep. Jim Walsh expresses concerns to KXL’s Lars Larson over California school book policy; Thinks it may spur similar legislation in Washington
Rep. Jim Walsh, R-Aberdeen, expressed concerns to Lars Larson on Portland’s KXL Radio about a policy signed into law in California that eliminates the ability of local school boards to decide which textbooks, library books, and other materials are allowed in public schools based on the needs and desires of parents and students in their communities.
Walsh is concerned Olympia bureaucrats might support a similar bill that would allow them to force sexually explicit material into public schools — including elementary schools.
