Walsh sounds alarm over missing taxpayer dollars, potential fraud

In this legisltive update, Rep. Jim Walsh, R-Aberdeen, calls for change to account for taxpayer dollars. Walsh says state spending has doubled in just ten years, and Washington taxpayers are footing the bill through higher property, sales and other taxes. But where is that money actually going?

Walsh sounds the alarm on the disturbing pattern of waste and potential fraud being reported. From the King County Regional Homelessness Authority, which receives millions in state dollars, losing track of $13 million to state agencies like DSHS and DCYF failing to account for tens of millions in childcare provider payments, he calls the lack of oversight unacceptable. Walsh says Washingtonians are tired of seeing their hard-earned money disappear into a black hole of bureaucracy and called for full audits, transparency, and a state government that respects the people who fund it.
